In term One we looked at how we have a responsiblity to make a difference in the world.
We looked into Beliefs and Values, realising that we are all different, and value different things. Our beliefs and values affect the way we look at situations and the decisions we make. Many of us decided the outcome of our inquiry would be an individual response to our responsibility to make a difference. It is really neat to see the applications that involve practical responses, not just the giving of money.
As a class we discussed a number of things we could do as a group – In the end we have pulled together our ideas and have decided to support Operation Christmas Child.
This involves creating shoeboxes of small gifts that are then sent to children who would otherwise go without. The destination on the country is dependant on need at the time.

Christmas boxes were delivered after the tsunami
Some ideas we currently have to help us with this project are:
· Start now, bringing in shoeboxes and old Christmas wrapping paper
· Looking out for small gifts on special and adding them to our collection
· Thinking of ways we can raise $ to contribute to our postage costs
· Entering competitions with prizes we could use in the boxes, or to generate money eg colouring in competitions
· Making a movie to let others know what we are doing
· Getting a special money box to put small change in – eg change from lunch orders (every 10cents counts)
